Checking out Newport, R.I. |
With J.J. Kwashnak and David Backman |
August 1997 |
To escape the heat of the summer in Boston, the Duck and friends took a little trip down to Naragansett Bay and the summer enclave in Newport. Here he stops by to mail a postquack to his flock friends.
While there, he decided to visit Wesley's parents at their store. Mom decided she liked the duck right off and agreed to pose with him. Dad was a little more reluctant.
Also there, he visited with the Wooden Indian who graces the front of the Backman's store. If the reluctant Mr. Backman (Wes's Dad) had moved a little to one side, you could still see our duck friend in front of the store. Despite that, the Duck certainly enjoyed his visit to Army Navy in Newport and suggests you stop by if you are in the neighborhood. Tell them the Duck sent you.
When not traumatized by being hidden in the pictures, he hid in the flowers along the way or traveled in Wesley's pocket. Can you find Waldo..I mean the Duck?
