Visiting the South at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa |

They say that in the autumn ducks fly south for the winter, and NOT was no exception. Except he flew US Airways and only made it as far as Alabama. So being the academic duck that he is, he stopped by to visit another institute of higher learning - the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. A grand old campus full of beauty and history. And besides, it was warm.
While there he found the campus steeped in history, and historical markers. He especially liked this place, because he knew he wouldn't get cornered by some butcher looking to make Peaking Duck.
He was especially happy to find Carmichael Hall, just like at another favorite school, Tufts University.

But not as surprised to see that he had his own building already - Nott Hall. He just wishes they spelled his name properly.
While there, it was important to partake of true southern cuisine - so for brunch he and his friends went to visit the Waffle House, staple of American breakfasts, and cult locale.
Some people read over your shoulder. NOT Duck reads on your shoulder. Checking out how the markets went in the Wall Street Journal with Russ.
Southern hospitality was in evidence wherever the Duck went. He made a new friend, a fellow northern (cold weather?) bird named Doobie.
After a fun visit, NOT Duck had many more states to visit and reluctantly boarded a plane back to Boston. Before leaving he said goodbye to his host Russ at the Birmingham Airport, vowing to return for some more southern hospitality.
