NOT hangs out a lot in San Francisco, so it's not surprising that he gets to run up the Pacific Coast once in a while. Recently he was off to Portland, Oregon.
With the sound of bells ringing in his ears, NOT overcame his fear of kettles for a few moments to see where the Salvation Army got its start.

Order! Order in the Quack. The Pioneer Courthouse is the oldest federal building in the Pacific Northwest, and the second oldest west of the Mississippi, and serves as part of the downtown heart of Portland.
They grow them big in Portland too. Portlandia is, according to Wikipedia, the "second largest copper repoussé statue in the United States, after the Statue of Liberty." She stands guard over the entrance to the Portland Building in downtown Portland Oregon. She is based upon the city seal and if she stood up, she would measure fifty feet tall.

Despite the friendly outstretched hand, NOT couldn't help feeling a bit like Fay Wray.
