Visiting the Cactus Plantation in Mississippi |
With JJ Kwashnak and Russ Minton |
January 2007 |
While traveling through Mississippi heading towards Jackson, NOT spied an interesting sign along the roadside. It advertised the World's Only Cactus Plantation.
Now one usually does not think of plantations for cacti. And cacti bring images of the desert, not quite the fertile delta of Mississippi. So they had to investigate.

When they got there, however, it was too early and the place was closed. But that was just as well, NOT found his bottom a bit sore from getting stuck as he posed on the various cacti around.

NOT did have to wonder if a cactus plantation house has big columns and is covered in stucco. That's an answer for another day he guesses.
