A quick visit to Richmond, Virginia |

Spring 2006 |
Richmond, the capital of the Confederacy, and the continued capital of the state of Virginia received a quick visit by NOT and Lis in town for a conference.
Now NOT is a connoisseur of capitol buildings, so a stop by the Virginia State capitol was necessary. Unfortunately it was under construction.

Richmond is a monument city, with many statues commemorating heroes and favorite sons. They even have an avenue of monuments. The Edgar Allen Poe museum is in Richmond, the city where he was born, grew up and began his famous literary career.

NOT wanted to know why he wrote about a raven, but never a duck. Poe would not answer.
And since it was a work trip, it was time to hit the convention center.
