Peru and Machu Picchu |
With Dorothy and Gary Lilien |
July 2005 |
I was delighted to accept an invitation to travel with Dorothy and Gary Lilien to Peru and especially to Machu Picchu in June/July of 2005. Amy Lilien-Harper and Glenn Harper could not go, but they asked me to go in their place. Dorothy and Gary treated me like a member of the family and I have asked if I might accompany them on some of their other travels.

I had heard of MachuPicchu, 7500 feet above sea level, as the lost city of the Incas and had seen the photos. Now that I have been there, I can report that the photos do not lie--the place is even more remarkable, beautiful and, yes, spiritual than I had heard (and I am not normally a spiritual duck).

The free-range llamas provide a special atmosphere.
