NOT believes in doing it all and seeing it all. So when it was time to have some summer travels, he looked in 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. In there was the Iowa State Fair. (The only state fair listed). Well since NOT had friends in Iowa, the fair seemed to be a natural duck trip.
The Iowa State Fair is world famous and this year it celebrated it's sesquicentennial (150 years). Not too shabby. And it's the only fair to have a musical written about it. The title? Oddly enough, it's State Fair.
In a moo-ving display, there is the centerpiece of the fair -the famous butter cow. She's kept in her own refrigerator case, so NOT had to check it out from outside. He wished he had some toast with him.

The fair is outside Des Moines, the capital of Iowa. And sitting on the highest (and only) hill, is the state capitol building. When he last visited, it was under some construction, but now its golden dome could shine in the sun.
