Bird watching on Cap May, New Jersey |
With Doug Larrick and Lis Daniels |
October 2004 |
Some say that NOT's friends are for the birds. But NOT has always taken that as a compliment considering his own avian nature.
Two of his closest friends are not only avid bird travelers, but also bird watchers. So when the autumn migrations started, they were off to Cape May in New Jersey to catch a glimpse of this annual rite of fall.

NOT spent time out in the field, but Lis didn't want to miss a thing so she was reluctant to share her field glasses with NOT. The duck got a bit wistful though, when he saw his like winging their way south for the winter. But then that gave way to the realization that he didn't have to go south - he had a warm house and lots of warm travel to look forward to. So let those common birds fly away, he'll stay to travel another day.
